Autoplus - ZQ52X WiFi

**Process uses files found on shared drive at Technical Services\Customer Files\AutoPlus\ZQ52X** 

Steps to Setup Zebra ZQ 521 Printers for models (ZQ52-AUN0100-00 / ZQ52-BUW0000-00)

NOTE: You’ll need Auto Plus Gap media inside the unit to complete the provisioning process. 

Preparation

1. Using Zendesk/Netsuite, download the pdf of the work order that is being fulfilled.

2. Compose an email with attention to (Halder, Vince (vhalder@autoplusap.com))

• Title = Auto Plus- SO___ <<< Found in the work order pdf / PO#___ <<< Found in the work order pdf.

• Body = Hi Vince, We have a printer order for a Auto Plus use case for WiFi Configuration. Attached are the order details and the WiFi spreadsheet. Will you be able to assist in getting this defined for the __ printer(s)? <<< Indicate the number of printers in the work order.

• Attached Files = Work order PDF file that was downloaded and the “ZQ521 Configuration Template” excel file located in : Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files> AutoPlus>ZQ52X>ZQ521 Customer Configuration>ZQ521 Configuration Template

3. Once the “ZQ521 Configuration Template” excel file has been filled out by the customer and sent back, save the file as "ZQ521 Configuration SO#_____" inside the ZQ521 Customer Configuration folder. <<< SO# found in the work order. 

   1. 1. 1. 1. 1. • • In the event that the customer doesn't fill out the “ZQ521 Configuration Template” excel file and sends the the config information by text through email, extract the information and fill out the “ZQ521 Configuration Template” excel file manually. Save the file as "ZQ521 Configuration SO#_____" inside the ZQ521 Customer Configuration folder. <<< SO# found in the work order. 

4. Locate the directory in Google Drive: Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files> AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration

5. Make a copy of the folder "ZQ520WiFi SO____Serial___Template".

   1. 1. 1. 1. 1. • • Rename the copied folder "ZQ520WiFi SO____ Serial___". SO = found in the work order pdf / Serial = the device that is being configured.

                    • The folder should now look like this: "ZQ520WiFi SO106805 Serial XXRBJ194503088" << The text in RED is an example of the input that will need to be inserted. 

6. Open the now renamed folder "ZQ520WiFi SOXXXXX Serial XXXXX" and confirm that there're eight .zpl files within. (Keep this folder open)

7. Open the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file << The excel file that either the customer filled out and returned or that was manually filled out internally and saved earlier. (Keep this file open) 

8. Open the "AutoPlus Locations.png" file located in Google Drive: Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files> AutoPlus> ZQ52X (Keep this file open)

9. While inside the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" excel file, identify the "DC Name" that corresponds to the serial number of the device that is being configured. 

10. Switch to the  "AutoPlus Locations.png" file and identify the "City" << this is the "DC Name" from earlier. Once identified, confirm the "SSID" name of the "City" also located in the "AutoPlus Locations.png".

7. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. • For example,  Binghamton << City = AP-DC-WIFI << SSID // Moorestown << City = EWMRF << SSID

                  11. After the "SSID" has been confirmed, switch to the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file. The eight files that are within this folder will be numbered from "1_" to "5_".

8. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. • • Focus on the series of "4_" << There should be four "4_" files present. All four will have a different end name.

                      • For example, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup.zpl, 4_AutoPlusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-AP-DC-WiFi.zpl, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-AUTOPLUSDC.zpl, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-EWMRF.zpl

                    • With the confirmation of what "SSID" that will be worked on, identify the "4_" that corresponds to the "SSID" gathered earlier and delete the other "4_" files. There should only be one "4_" file now. 

                      • In the example Binghamton << City = AP-DC-WIFI << SSID; since AP-DC-WIFI is the "SSID", that means out of the eight "4_" files: 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup.zpl, 4_AutoPlusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-AP-DC-WiFi.zpl, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-AUTOPLUSDC.zpl, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-EWMRF.zpl || 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup.zpl, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-AUTOPLUSDC.zpl, 4_AutoplusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-EWMRF.zpl will be deleted. This will leave 4_AutoPlusMobilePrinterWirelessSetup-AP-DC-WiFi.zpl left. 

                    • The "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" folder should now have five .zlp files numbered from "1_" to "5_" with no duplicate "4_" files. Feel free to close the "AutoPlus Locations.png" file.     

                   12. Open the single "4_" file with notepad.

                   13. Open the "AutoPlus WIFI Config Field Changes" excel file located in the Google Drive: Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files> AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration   directory.

                14. Between the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file, "4_" file and the "AutoPlus WIFI Config Field Changes" file, go to the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file and take note of the   row where the "DC Name"  that corresponds to the serial number of the device that is being configured was identified earlier.

8. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. • • The column names that need attention are "NEW SAP Printer/Output Device", "IP address", "Subnet" and "Gateway".

                    • Identify these variables within the columns that correspond to the serial number/device that is being configured.

               15. Once these variables are identified, shift the focus over to the "4_" file and the "AutoPlus WIFI Config Field Changes" file.

8. 1. 1. 1. 1. 1. • • In the "AutoPlus WIFI Config Field Changes" file, the names of all four "4_" files and their respective .zpl code will be within. Find the group that corresponds to the "4_" file that is currently opened.

                    • Look for the fields highlighted in yellow w/ red text in the group that was found in the "AutoPlus WIFI Config Field Changes" file. These are the fields that need to be changed in the "4_" file.

                      • The field "^WIP," = "IP address","Subnet","Gateway" columns in the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file.

                      • The field "^NN" = "NEW SAP Printer/Output Device" column in the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file.

                    • In the "4_" file, replace the "XXXX" variables with the values identified in the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file.

                    • Save the changes made to the "4_" file. Feel free to close the "ZQ521 Configuration SO#XXXX" file, "4_" file and the "AutoPlus WIFI Config Field Changes" file.

Staging the Device

                   16. Plug in the printer to a local desktop/laptop. 

                   17. When complete, on the laptop, open "Control Panel" then select "View Devices and Printers"

                   18. Select the correct printer from the list and right-click.

                   19. Select Printing Preferences > Tools> Action > Send file.

                   20. Select the three dots at the bottom right-hand of the screen

                   21. Search for file: Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files> AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 Approved FW> V91.21.20Z.zpl **Or latest approved**

• The printer will begin downloading firmware and then restart

• Once it restarts, it will continue to load the file. It will be completed when the configuration begins to print.

• Once the configuration label prints, tear it off and dispose.

                  22. Search for file: Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files> AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration> "ZQ520WiFi SO___ Serial___"  (the file                                     you saved earlier)> 1_AutoplusMobilePrinterSettings.zpl

• Click Send button.

• The printer will push the config and restart. 

                 23. Once the printer as rebooted, on the laptop (following the the same send file actions), search for file: Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files>                                   AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration> "ZQ520WiFi SO___ Serial___"  (the file you saved earlier)> 2_AutoplusMobilePrinterLabelSetup.zpl

• Click Send button.

• The printer will push the config and restart. 

                24. Once the printer as rebooted, on the laptop (following the the same send file actions), search for file: Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files>                                    AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration> "ZQ520WiFi SO___ Serial___"  (the file you saved earlier)> 3_Print Width ZPL.zpl

• Click Send button.

• The printer will push the config and restart. 

               25. Once the printer as rebooted, on the laptop (following the the same send file actions), search for file: Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files>                                   AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration> "ZQ520WiFi SO___ Serial___"  (the file you saved earlier)> "4_".zpl << The only file that had values changed 

• Click Send button.

• The printer will push the config and restart. 

              26. Once the printer as rebooted, on the laptop (following the the same send file actions), search for file: Google Drive>My Drive> Strategic>Technical Services> Customer Files>                                  AutoPlus> ZQ52X> ZQ521 WIFI Configuration> "ZQ520WiFi SO___ Serial___"  (the file you saved earlier)> 5_Calibration.zpl

• Click Send button.

• The printer will push the config and restart. 

             27. Print the configuration label. There're two ways to do this. Pick one

• • • • 1. 1. • •  In "Printing Preferences" > "Tools". Select "Print" under the tab "Command type:" and select "Print configuration label" under the tab "Command name:". Click the "Send" button. 

                • On the device, hold down both the "Check Mark" button and the "Feed" button (button to the right of the check mark button) for 5 seconds.

            28. Once the configuration label has been printed, tear it off and highlight the following lines:

• Firmware - "V91.21.20Z" or latest firmware (Located in "Program" section)

           29. Remove receipt media from device.

           30. Roll the configuration label up and insert media into the device. - Staging is complete
