If a bypass of the "Hi There" screen or a factory reset is needed at any point, use the barcodes at the bottom of this page.
Check for both hardware and software issues before continuing. Check the following:
Power On/Off: Ensure the device can power on and off normally.
Screen Condition: Check for cracks, dead pixels, or touch responsiveness issues.
Buttons: Ensure all buttons (power, volume, etc.) are functional.
Ports: Inspect the charging port, headphone jack, and any other external connectors for damage.
Device Housing: Look for any physical damage to the casing that might indicate a fall or water damage.
Wi-Fi: Test the device’s ability to connect to Wi-Fi.
Barcode Scanning: Test the barcode scanner with various barcode types.
Once the device check is complete, proceed to the "Load Approved OS - Android 13 Build" section
Turn on unit
On Hi There! screen, scan the StageNow "OS Upgrade" barcode to kick off OS upgrade
Unit will restart
Open StageNow, scan the "Factory Reset" barcode
The device should now be on the approved OS version. Proceed to the "REX Asset Update" section
OS Upgrade Barcode
Open Office Depot's REX environment.
Select the "Assets" option.
Use the magnifying glass on the top right hand corner to search for the asset (paste the serial number).
Select the searched asset (another UI will appear to the right side of the screen).
Edit the following fields:
Location ID = Select "SST-SC" using the "v" option or type "SST-SC" in the field.
Status = Change the status of the device from “Pending Staging Supply Chain” to “SPARE POOL-SUPPLY CHAIN”
Select the green "Save" button when complete.
Take the device and place it in a bin labeled "Spare Pool Supply Chain ET40"
The Pending Staging process is complete.
