**Process use files found on shared drive at Technical Services\Customer Files\TechmerPM\STAGENOW**
Determine if the device is in a lockdown state.
Is the device's user interface locked down?
If YES, and you cannot access standard apps or settings, begin with Procedure 1 below.
If NO, and the device is on a standard setup screen or home screen, proceed directly to Procedure 2.
Procedure 1: Lockdown Bypass & Factory Reset
Power on the device
If locked by a pin, enter 1234
You will be pushed to the lockdown interface.
Select the vertical triple dotted line on the upper righthand side.
Select Tools: From the dropdown menu, choose the "Tools" option.
Tap on "Admin Login."
Select Admin Password = Battery1
After successful login, the device will be in Admin Mode. You will now see all the applications installed on the device.
While the device is temporarily unlocked (in Admin Mode), open the StageNow application.
Scan the barcode below named Factory Reset. This will begin the factory reset process on the device.
Proceed directly to Procedure 2
Procedure 2: Device Inspection Checklist
Perform this comprehensive check to ensure the device is fully functional.
Battery and Power
Power On/Off: Confirm the device powers on and off correctly using the power button.
Charging Test: Place the device in a compatible cradle or connect a charger to verify that the charging indicator activates and the battery receives a charge.
Physical Inspection
Screen Condition: Inspect the screen for any cracks, scratches, or dead pixels. Test touch responsiveness across the entire display.
Buttons: Press each physical button (power, volume up/down, scanner triggers) to ensure they click properly and perform their function.
Ports: Visually inspect the charging port and any other connectors for debris, bent pins, or physical damage.
Device Housing: Check the casing for cracks, significant scuffs, or other signs of impact or water damage.
Connectivity & Function
Wi-Fi: Connect the device to a Wi-Fi network to confirm it can establish and maintain a stable connection.
Barcode Scanner: Launch a scanning application and test the scanner with several different barcode types (1D, 2D/QR) to ensure it reads quickly and accurately.
Proceed to the "Load Approved OS" section.

To update the device to the target OS, you can either scan the staging barcodes provided in this guide or use an SD card loaded with the necessary OS files, which are located here. The barcode staging method is recommended.
Please proceed to the section that contains the preferred method of Load OS Approved.
Load Approved OS - Barcode Method or Load Approved OS - SD Card Method
Power on Device
On "Hi There" screen:
Scan the first barcode from the designated profile (OS 1-30-04.00-OG-U00) below.
Allow the StageNow application to launch.
Scan all remaining profile barcodes from the designated profile (OS 1-30-04.00-OG-U00).
After the download completes, the device will attempt to upgrade/downgrade the device.
To check the update status, pull down the notification panel from the top of the screen and you will see "Zebra System Services OS Update is working now 1%...". This can take up to 5 minutes
The device will display "OS Update is Completed Device will be rebooting in 15 seconds" when complete.
Once the process is complete, the device will reboot.
After the update is completed, confirm the build number.
Go to Settings > About phone > Build Number = 01-30-04.00-OG-U00
Launch the StageNow application
Scan the first barcode from the designated profile (OS 1-30-04.00-OG-U15) below.
Allow the StageNow application to launch.
Scan all remaining profile barcodes from the designated profile (OS 1-30-04.00-OG-U15).
Just like step 3, the device will attempt to upgrade/downgrade the device.
The device will display "OS Update is Completed Device will be rebooting in 15 seconds" when complete.
After the update is completed, confirm the build number.
Go to Settings > About phone > Build Number = 01-30-04.00-OG-U00
After confirmation, open StageNow and then scan barcodes: Bypass Barcode and then Factory Reset
This will factory reset the device and bring it back to the "Hi There" screen.

Proceed to the "REX Asset Update" section
Installing SD Card
Power off the device.
Remove the battery.
Using a Torx T8 screwdriver with a large grip, remove the two keypad latch screws from inside the battery slot.
Slide the keypad latches toward the bottom of the device.
a. Release Keypad Latches
b. Release Keypad Latches
5. Turn the device over so that the keypad is visible.
6. Using a Torx T8 screwdriver, remove the two keypad assembly screws from the top of the keypad.
7. Lift the keypad from the device.
8. Slide the microSD card holder to the Open position.
9. Lift the microSD card holder.
10. Insert the microSD card into the card holder door, ensuring that the card slides into the holding tabs on each side of the door.
11. Close the microSD card holder door and slide the door to the Lock position.
12. Align the keypad along the bottom ridge of the device, and then lay it flat.
a. Remove Keypad
a. Open microSD Card Holder
b. Lift microSD Card Holder
c. Insert microSD Card into Holder
d. Replace Keypad
13. At this point OS Load can begin and staging can be processed. Set aside all screws in a plastic bin.
14. Insert the battery and Follow steps below for the OS Load
15. After completion, remove the keypad.
16. Slide the card holder to the right to release and remove the microSD card
17. Replace the keypad
18. Using a Torx T8 screwdriver with a large grip and a long shaft, secure the keypad to the device using the two screws.
19. Turn the device over so that the keypad latches are visible.
20. Slide both the keypad latches toward the top of the device.
21. Using a Torx T8 screwdriver, replace the two keypad latch screws inside the battery slot

c. Replace Keypad Latch Screws
22. Press and hold both power & handle trigger key
23. Release the keys after Zebra logo appears
24. Android Recovery menu will boot up
25. Load base level OS package HE_FULL_UPDATE_01-30-04.00-OG-U00-STD.zip
Volume key down to move highlight
Select with Power Key Apply downgrade from SD card > press power key
Select TECHMERPM OS > Select HE_FULL_UPDATE_01-30-04.00-OG-U00-STD.zip > press power key
26. After Install Complete > Select Reboot system now > press power key
27. On Hi There > Press and hold power key select Restart
28. Press and hold Trigger
29. Release the keys after Zebra logo appears
30. Android Recovery menu will boot up
31. Load patch level OS package HE_DELTA_UPDATE_01-30-04.00-OG-U15-STD.zip
Volume key down to move highlight
Select with Power Key Apply upgrade from SD card > press power key
Select TECHMERPM OS > Select HE_DELTA_UPDATE_01-30-04.00-OG-U15-STD.zip > press power key
32. After Install Complete > Select Reboot system now > press power key
Proceed to the "REX Asset Update" section
Open the Techmer PM REX environment.
Select the "Assets" option.
Use the magnifying glass on the top right hand corner to search for the asset (paste the serial number).
Select the searched asset (another UI will appear to the right side of the screen).
Edit the following fields:
Location ID = Select "SST"
Status = Change the status to “SPARE POOL”
Select the green "Save" button when complete.
Take the device and place it in a bin labeled "Techmer PM Spare Pool"
The Pending Staging process is complete.
