*** This device is generally located in the either the bin named "Back-from-Repair" or "Awaiting Evaluation". ***
Grab a RS5100 and a battery.
Insert the battery into the device and press the yellow button on the left of the device.
Wait for a few seconds. A few beeps will sound off with a green light indicating that the device is powering on.
Test the RS5100s finger strap to make sure that it can be adjusted and is secure.
Test the RS5100s scanner and scanner button.
The scanner button should have a slight click sound when pressed.
The scanner (when the button is pressed and held down) should look like a red cross.
Scan a barcode with the RS5100.
Three beeps will sound off (this means that the device was able to scan the barcode).
Open REX Assets and search the Serial Number of the device
Change the status of the device from “Awaiting Evaluation” or "IN REPAIR- SUPPLY CHAIN" to “SPARE POOL- SUPPLY CHAIN”
Change the location ID of the device from "ZEBRA-SC" to “SST-SC”
If the location ID is anything other than "SST-SC", change it to "SST-SC"
Place the newly updated and staged device in the appropriate spare pool bin with the rest of its like models (Spare Pool Supply Chain RS100)
Staging is complete.
